More speakers announced for AGI #GeoCom20 Join us next week!

The AGI GeoCommunity conference is back in an all new virtual format, free to attend and open to anyone.

In a year that has made face to face networking difficult, we’re delighted to connect our members and wider community in a virtual conference room environment to discuss the Sustainable (R)Evolution!

We’re delighted to announce further inspiring speakers joining us next week:

  • Mike Harlow Deputy Chief Land Registrar, HM Land Registry and
  • Rupert Parker, Founder, Building Passport

Join with Pooran Desai, CEO Oneplanet.com in our plenary session on Tuesday, looking at “Changing Cityscapes”. Each will present and then join us for a panel session facilitated by Stephen Croney, Esri UK & AGI Council member.

  • Afriqnmun Lovejoy MBE,  Head of Sustainable Development, UK Space Agency and
  • Rohini Swaminathan, Emergency Specialist (Risk Monitoring and Analysis) at UNICEF

Will join UK National Statistician, Professor Sir Ian Diamond on Wednesday, on the topic of “Changing Global Perspectives”. Our panel discussion will be facilitated by David Henderson, Chief Geospatial Officer at Ordnance Survey.

And finally,

  • Jameson Detweiler, Co Founder of Fantasmo

Will join Edwina Dunn OBE, Geospatial Commissioner and data science entrepreneur on Thursday. This session will consider “Changing Experiences of Location Data”. Fantasmo have recently supplied high resolution data to the new Wallace and Gromit adventure The Big Fix Up. A panel discussion on ways in which experiences of location data are changing and our role in that will be facilitated by Denise McKenzie, AGI Chair & Co-Director of Benchmark.

Plenary sessions will be chaired by Abigail Page, Head of Innovation and Skills, Geospatial Commission. Each session will provide opportunities for audience discussion in our virtual conference room, to reflect on the thoughts from our speakers and share your views.

The full agenda for the plenary session is available at the event page.

We are also pleased to be facilitating a number of side events during the week, including on Monday evening a pre-conference GeoQuiz! Join as a team or come and make new connections.

With a fantastic number of attendees signed up for the event next week, we’re not only welcoming delegates from the UK but also from Colombia, India, Switzerland, Australia, Belgium, the USA, Brasil, Germany, Ghana, Canada, Singapore, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Japan!

This is a must attend event, not another webinar – with interactive discussion you will want to join us live to hear from inspiring thought leaders and share your ideas on how geospatial can drive a Sustainable (R)Evolution!

If you’ve not already signed up, book your attendance today free online and remember to put the event in your calendar!  We look forward to seeing you in our virtual conference hall next week.
